Simple Swaps to Reduce Your Plastic Use

Unfortunately currently only plastics numbered 1, 2 and 5 can be recycled in New Zealand. This is largely due to the international market demand, and the durability of the different types of plastic. Central Hawke’s Bay District Council no longer accepts plastics numbered 3, 4, 6 and 7. Only plastic bottles and plastics numbered 1, 2 and 5 are acceptable for recycling.
