The Central Hawkes Bay District Plan contains objectives, policies and rules that help us sustainably manage adverse effects on the environment. It primarily addresses land use and subdivision activities in the district.
Councils are required to prepare a District Plan under the Resource Management Act 1991. The Central Hawkes Bay District Plan (also called the Operative District Plan) is nearly 20 years old and it’s time for a plan that reflects who we are today and our aspirations for the future.
We started reviewing the Central Hawkes Bay District Plan in 2018. A new Proposed District Plan has been publicly notified and Council received 122 submissions. A Summary of Submissions, that includes changes sought to the Plan in the submissions, will be available to view Monday 11 October. Eligible members of the public are now able to submit a further submission until 29 October 2021.
