Roading and weather update

Grey Template

The heavy and constant rain is causing a couple of issues on our network.

***Update 8pm***
Our roading team has been out to the following sites and while open, caution is advised due to surface flooding:

- Makaroro Road about 13.3km from SH50
- Mangakuri Road about 5.4km from Kairakau

For a list of more local road closures and hazards visit our website: https://bit.ly/3P7lnwT

Remember to drive safe out there and exercise caution on all roads due to the potential for more slips and flooding across our roads with this wet weather.
***Update 7.15pm***

The heavy rain warning has expired for the east coast. However, there is still rain forecast through to early Tuesday and we expect more slips, water and surface flooding on our roads over the next 48 hours.
Thanks to everyone for reporting issues across our network. Our teams have been out responding to these as well as working with Waka Kotahi on issues across the state highway.
Remember to drive safe and exercise extra caution out there in the dark.
