Boil Water Notice Lifted for Waipukurau

DRAFT Boil Water Notice June Weather Event 2

Great news Waipukurau, as at 3pm today (Wednesday 28 June) the boil water notice for Waipukurau has been lifted.

The boil water notice has been in place since Friday 23 June, due to the flooding event increasing the turbidity (reduced clarity) of the drinking water we provide in Waipukurau, and after 3 consecutive days of sampling we are happy that it meets drinking water standards.

What to do now that the boil water notice has been lifted?
• Run all your cold taps for 5 minutes before using the water
• If you have been away while the boil water notice has been in place, run your taps for 15 minutes to clear old water from your pipes.
• Flush any appliances, eg: coffee machines, water dispensers, ice makers that are connected to the water supply.

A big shout to our waters team, who have worked hard over the weekend to achieve the lifting of this boil water notice ahead of time. Lastly, a massive thank you to our communities, who have been incredibly patient and supportive.

Please share this information with others you know of, that may not receive this information through the internet. The water tankers currently in place, will be removed over the next day or two.

If you have any questions, please phone us on 24/7 on 06 857 8060 (24-hour line). For more details on the notice and what this means for you see boil water notices
