Story from the ground

Cleveland

Cleveland has found the Mobile Employment Hub a great place to get employment assistance and for finding what local jobs are available while undertaking an Employment Preparation course at EIT in Waipukurau. Currently unemployed since March this year after finishing seasonal work and pressing in the shearing sheds with a local shearing company, Cleveland is keen to start work again.

Cleveland recommends the EIT Course to those looking for employment. The EIT Course takes you through how to create a CV, career pathway building, interviews and different listening skills. Participants also learn about different Acts and Legislation from people involved in Health & Wellbeing. During the employment preparation time, if participants have identified that they would like to go onto further training, then EIT supports this. Those who successfully complete the two-week course receive a certificate for Employment Preparation - Level 3.
“As part of the EIT course, the one thing that stands out for me is the Course Tutor. Whenever we are stuck with anything, she is willing to help us, point us in the right direction or help us find the answers. I recommend the EIT course in Waipukurau, it can assist you in upskilling and prepare you for interviews. It’s worth having another certificate under your belt.”
“If you get the opportunity to do the course – give it a go!”
