Central Hawke's Bay Refuse and Recycling Update

Refuse and Recycling Updates

All Central Hawke's Bay Transfer Stations and Recycling Drop-Off Centres will be closed today, until advice by the government is given that they can reopen.

Transfer Stations and Recycling Drop-Off Centres are places that public congregate, so this is for the protection of all of the community as we unite to eliminate COVID-19 throughout New Zealand.

Transfer Stations will remain open to essential businesses and commercial users. A Council representative will be in touch with these businesses to discuss access.

Kerbside rubbish and recycling collection will continue as normal, and residents are advised to place green and yellow rubbish bags and recycling crates to the kerb by 7.30am on their usual day of collection.

Collection days are as follows:

Refuse collection

  • Blackhead: Sunday
  • Kairakau, Mangakuri, Aramoana, Pourerere: Monday
  • Waipukurau: Tuesday
  • Waipawa, Otane: Wednesday
  • Takapau, OngaOnga, Tikokino, Porangahau/Te Paerahi: Thursday
