Central Hawke's Bay Council turns 30

miriammargmoniqueresized

On 1 November 1989 Central Hawke's Bay District Council held its inaugural council meeting, following the merging of Waipukurau and Waipawa District Councils. Since then we've had six mayors and 46 councillors represent the people of CHB.

Two of our longest serving staff members Miriam Squire and Margaret Munro, who have been with us from day one, joined our chief executive Monique Davidson in planting a tree to commemorate this special day.

A big thank you to everyone in our community who has contributed to the success of our district over the last 30 years, making Central Hawke’s Bay the vibrant thriving district it is today!
