It was a proud moment for Hawke's Bay's five councils this week, winning the award for Best Digital Project at the 2019 ALGIM (Association of Local Government Information Management) Spring Conference Awards for a shared website project for the Hawke's Bay region.
The project is a New Zealand first, with the five councils working in partnership to successfully deliver a revamp of the councils' websites to achieve consistency of design, mobile compatibility, customer focused layouts and the sharing of costs to secure better value for our ratepayers.
This project started in January 2018, completing in February 2019. It consisted of building 8 websites in total - 5 new main council websites, an upgrade of the regional Civil Defence website, separating out the Regional Council’s bus service into its own stand-alone website, and creating a new regional consultation website, where all formal and informal consultations would be added. It involved building a new front end for the website, and improving the backend CMS functionality. These websites are:
