Raising funds for the completion of Stage 1 of the Waipawa and Districts Centennial Memorial Pool

The Polar Plunge is to be held at the Waipawa and Districts Centennial Memorial Pool Complex on Sunday the 30th of June.


Pre-registrations CLOSE 4.00pm Wednesday 26th June 2019. Registrations online here or at  the AW Parsons Indoor Pool Reception. Preference for online registration however, registrations on the day will be accepted.
All Pre-registered participants must ‘Sign-In’ on the day between 11.00am – 11.45am to confirm their attendance, complete the sign-in process, and be ready for the event briefing at 11.45am (All participants MUST attend).


All participants must hand in their sponsorship forms when they ‘Sign-In’.


This is a fun event with the aim of raising funds for the Waipawa and Districts Centennial Memorial Pool. Please enter into the spirit of the occasion and respect all other participants.
Only appropriate swimwear to be worn. NO clothing in the pool – wetsuits may worn.
Please obey Lifeguards and Marshals. Failure to do so will result in being removed from the swimming pool.
PARTICIPANTS ONLY are allowed in the marshalling area inside the swimming pool.
All participants will be given a cup of soup and bun on completion.
Food & Refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the event. AW Pool Reception 0.75metres ladder end - 0.9metres winursday 13th April (Parent supervision is required) Drop your entry River Terrace, WAIPUKURAU

How does the Polar Plunge work?

BEFORE Event Day:
1. Complete your registration form online or by visiting AW Parsons Pool Reception. Preference for online registration however, registrations on the day will be accepted.
2. Approach family, friends, and neighbours etc to sponsor you. Make sure they fill in all their details on your Sponsorship Form.

ON Event Day:
3. Bring your Sponsorship Form with you to the Waipawa and Districts Centennial Memorial Pool.
4. 12.00am onwards the event begins

AFTER Event Day:
5. Return to your sponsors with your Sponsorship Form to collect their pledged sponsorship.
6. Hand in your sponsorship money to the Council or AW Parsons Pool Reception.
7. ALL DONE!

FAQs
What if I am unsure what my swimming capability is and I want to take part? To take part you needn’t be able to swim any distance but must be confident in the water. Children must be over 8 and have their caregiver’s permission. If at all concerned, just ask a lifeguard to keep a watch.

If you have any medical concerns regarding your ability to take part in this initiative safely, please check with your family doctor.

What do I do with my sponsorship money if I have it all collected before event day?
(e.g. just pledges)
Once you have your full total, return it to the place where you first registered for it to be recorded. Alternatively, you can bring it with you on the day.

What will happen to all the money raised?
All proceeds from the event will go to the Waipawa and Districts Centennial Memorial Pool in the completion of Stage 1.
