Central Hawke’s Bay District Council Libraries have teamed up with the Spark Foundation to help local families and whānau with young children get connected to the internet.mediareleaseMED201821 RebeccaFirstSparkJumpClient

Spark Jump is a low-cost, pre-pay internet service for families with children under 18, with no current broadband connection. Spark Jump gives families subsidised home internet enabling children to continue their learning beyond the classroom.

Families eligible for Spark Jump will receive a modem and a wireless broadband connection and pay $10 for 30GB with no fixed term contract. As a pre-pay service, the modem can be topped up at any time in the same way as pre-pay mobile phones. Because it uses Spark’s 4G wireless network there’s no fibre or landline connection, and no installation cost or complications.

Council Libraries are encouraging families without internet to visit the library and become a Spark Jump client. The local Library in Waipukurau and Waipawa will assist with the setting up and will also provide assistance through an introduction session.

Families can book an appointment with the Library Team by phoning Waipawa Library on 06-857-8123 and the Waipukurau Library on 06-858-9154.

Council Libraries are pleased to be able to offer this fantastic opportunity to local families. This is a great initiative to support a thriving community with connected citizens.
