Central Hawke's Bay Agritourism - Exploring our opportunities

Untitled design 4

So you want to get involved in Agritourism?

Central Hawke's Bay District Council and Inside New Zealand would like to invite you to attend the Central Hawke's Bay Agritourism - Exploring our opportunities workshop.

This event is for anyone who has been wondering how to turn their agritourism idea into a reality. Come along and explore ways farmers, growers and catchment groups, can bring in domestic and international visitors to diversify and grow their income.

Who is the workshop for?

  • Farmers, growers and small block holders who are interested in diversifying their farm income by establishing a new venture within their farm. This could be accommodation, food or beverage, a new crop, a great view, a retreat or an experience.
  • Catchment groups looking to showcase the work they are doing and commercialise the opportunity for domestic and international visitors.
  • Landowners looking at adding value to food, fibre and nature by producing products off their farm.

What will it cover?

  • Agritourism product development - assessing your farm or catchment for agritourism potential, identifying and maximising opportunities.
  • Agritourism benefits for landowners and communities, and keys to agritourism business success.
  • Case studies from local business who have already diversified their farm business through food, accommodation and or experience options.

This interactive session will provide practical guidance on assessing your options for agritourism development.

  • Where: Central Hawke's Bay Municipal Theatre, Waipawa
