Here are the long weekend hours for Council services and facilities over the Hawke's Bay Anniversary and Labour Weekend.

Council Offices

  • Closed 06 857 80 60 (24 hour service)

Waipawa Library & The Knowledge & Learning Hub - Te Huinga Wai

AA Services

  • Closed Friday and Monday
  • Reopens Tuesday 24 October, 9am

Kerbside Collections

Transfer Stations

FREE green waste disposal this weekend! 
  • FREE disposal of green waste on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 October of up to a trailer load (no tree stumps or logs)
  • Saturday: Waipukurau Transfer Station, 9-5pm
  • Sunday: Takapau 11-3pm, Waipawa 9-5pm and Pōrangahau 2-6pm

Rural Recycling Trailers

  • Operating as normal 
  • Friday: Sherwood and Flemington Schools
  • Monday: Elsthorpe and Argyll Halls

Mobile Employment Hubs

  • Closed

Central Hawke's Bay Museum - FREE ENTRY

  • Closed Friday and Monday 
  • Open Saturday and Sunday, 10-4pm
