Water Restrictions from Monday 11 December 2017
Acting under Part 7 of the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council Bylaws, extraordinary use of water supplied from Council water supply systems has, effective Monday 11 December 2017, been restricted to the following:
Waipukurau, Waipawa, Otane, Takapau, Porangahau, Te Paerahi & Kairakau Water Supply
- Hosing Restrictions -Because of the demand for water all consumers are restricted to using hand held hoses only on alternate days for watering gardens and lawns. Consumers whose property numbers are evenly numbered, or on the north/east side of the street shall only water on even numbered days. Consumers whose property numbers are unevenly numbered or on the south/west side of the street, shall only water on uneven numbered days. (It is recommended that watering takes place either in the early morning or evening).
Rest of District
Consumers are encouraged to consider their use of water, and to carry out practical water conservation measures during the summer. If you see water running to waste, please consider how this can be stopped
