MetService: An Orange Heavy Rain Warning

An orange HEAVY RAIN WARNING has been issued for the Ruahine Ranges and the inland ranges of Hawke's Bay from 10pm Sunday 19 November until 4am Tuesday 21 November.
Expect 120 to 150mm of rain to accumulate.150 mm rainfall over >24 hours in this area is just around a 5 year event. Being quite widespread, it may amount to a small to moderate rise in the main rivers.

For Central Hawke's Bay the rain may cause surface flooding and roading issues. Please drive to the conditions. If you are concerned about any surface ponding in your area, give us a call 06 857 8060 (24/7).

We are keeping a watch on the situation and will update if the forecast or situation changes.

UPDATE 9:30AM, Monday 20 November:
  • Heavy rain has currently eased, however it is expected to increase around midday today and a further 70-90mm of rain is expected to accumulate. The heavy rain is expected to continue into the evening before easing in the early hours of tomorrow morning (Tuesday 21 November).
