Waipukurau Transfer Station is open seven days a week: Monday to Friday 9.30 am-4.30 pm; Saturday and Sunday 9 am-5 pm.
Pōrangahau Transfer Station is open Wednesday and Sunday, 1 pm-3 pm.
Waipawa and Takapau transfer stations have closed permanently.
All transfer stations will be closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and ANZAC Day.

From Monday 9 December 2024, Waipukurau transfer station will move from a volume-based pricing system to a weight-based pricing system, using the recently installed weighbridge. The weighbridge will record the weight of waste as vehicles enter and exit, with charges based on the difference.
New charges:
• General waste disposal: $0.39 per kilogram (incl. GST), minimum charge $12
• Green waste disposal: $0.14 per kilogram (incl. GST), minimum charge $8
There are no changes to pricing at Pōrangahau transfer station.
These are located in Waipukurau, Waipawa, Pōrangahau, Ōtāne, Tikokino, Ongaonga and Takapau and are open 24 hours.
Two mobile recycling trailers operate in our rural communities where drop-off centres and kerbside collections are unavailable.
The trailers operate from 8 am to 4 pm on the following days and locations:
The trailers do not operate on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day. Sometimes the service may be disrupted due to unforeseen circumstances eg severe weather events or unplanned road closures. We will let people know via our Facebook page and this website as soon as we can.
