What is a District Plan?

A District plan is the 'rule book' that manages the way land is used, developed and subdivided. A district Plan affects everyone who lives in Central Hawkes Bay now and into the future. The council has a legal responsibility under the Resource Management Act 1991 to have a District Plan.

To help explain the changes we are proposing in this draft District Plan, we have summarised the plan into key messages that we would like your feedback on:
