The reform programme has been underway for a number of years but is gaining momentum and attention now. Over the next 6 weeks Councils have been asked to provide their feedback to government about the reform proposals. Following this process, it is unclear what steps the government will take and what the timeframe for further change will be entirely. The government have signalled an intent to have all changes implemented and new entities established and operational by 1 July 2024.
