Eric Tate Scholarship

The Eric Tate Scholarship was established in 1984 by Mr Eric Tate (now deceased) of Napier and formerly a resident of Waipawa.

The scholarship shall be awarded only to students who normally reside in the area served by the former Waipawa District High School and the townships of Ongaonga, Tikokino and Otane, and who have spent the greater part of their secondary education (the decision of the Trustees on this requirement to be final) at Central Hawke's Bay College.

The scholarships shall be awarded to students to assist them in pursuing a full time course of tertiary education.

Each scholarship awarded initially for a period of one year and may be extended to a maximum of two years at the discretion for the trustees if the scholarship holder achieves satisfactory academic results in their first year of study.

  • Her Worship the Mayor, Central Hawke’s Bay District Council
  • Chief Executive of Central Hawke’s Bay District Council
