Three key opportunities identified by Council's Chief Executive

Preelection report

Partnership with Māori, reimagining local government, and focused leadership through unprecedented change: these key strategic opportunities are identified in the Pre-election report released this week by Central Hawke’s Bay District Council Chief Executive Doug Tate.

Mr Tate says “Successfully addressing these three opportunities is not a job for the faint-hearted. Elected Members will need a truly collaborative approach and visionary energy to secure our district’s thriving future, with the wellbeing of our people at the centre.”

The Pre-election report is a legal requirement of all councils. Its aim is to provide politically independent information about challenges and opportunities ahead, and to promote informed choices for both voters and those considering standing as candidates.

“Tamatea-Central Hawke’s Bay is thriving on the back of unprecedented growth and change,” says Mr Tate. “But with change comes new challenges requiring courageous leadership.”

The Pre-election report is now available on Central Hawke's Bay District Council's website along with information on enrolling, voting and standing for Council:

www.chbdc.govt.nz/our-council/elections/local-elections-2022/.

There will be an information evening for anyone interested in standing as a candidate for the CouncilMARK™ AA-rated Council at 6:30pm on Wednesday 27 July at the Council offices in Ruataniwha Street, Waipawa.
