Central Hawke’s Bay buzzing from Art Deco Farmers Market

Art Deco was alive in Central Hawke’s Bay on Saturday 19 February for the Districts inaugural Farmers Market.

Over 27 stallholders came together to showcase all the best local produce and products that Central Hawke’s Bay had to offer which included, local wine from Lime Rock and Junction, Kanapu Hemp, Cheese, Chocolates and more.

The initiative was coordinated with support from the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council through the CHB Business Network, which consists of local businesses who are passionate about working together to have a positive impact on Central Hawke’s Bays economic growth.

Espresso Loco business owner and co-organiser of the event, Matt Sisson said they wanted to ensure Central Hawke’s Bay had involvement in the 2022 Hawke’s Bay Art Deco celebrations.

“Showcasing the best of Central Hawke’s Bay’s local produce and products through the farmer’s market was a great opportunity to encourage people to visit the district and spend some time in our District” said Matt.

Shelly Birdsall from ‘Shop CHB’, who co-led the CHB Business Network initiative said “the event provided support for many of our local suppliers, providing a boost for many local businesses in these uncertain times of COVID-19 .”

With strong attendance, feedback was positive with requests for future events, a welcomed response as the Network intends to run more farmer’s markets as an opportunity to support local and showcase the amazing produce Central Hawke’s Bay has to offer through what are uncertain times for business.
