Cyclone Gabrielle - Water Supply

The current situation

Update: Wednesday 22 March

LEVEL 3 WATER RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED FOR WAIPAWA AND OTĀNE!

There are no water restrictions in place in our district.
What does this mean?
  • You can use hoses and waterblasters to clean your property - please just be mindful you do not wash silt down your drains as this is likely to clog the system.
  • There are no longer restrictions on non-essential water use such as washing vehicles or topping up your spa.
Thank you for hanging in there with us, we really appreciate your patience as we have been working to test the reliability of our newly rebuilt Tikokino Road Plant.

Waterways

Please do not swim or fish in our rivers or waterways, the water is likely to be contaminated and it is not safe.
