Privacy
Central Hawke’s Bay District Council does not have an explicit privacy policy. Council is covered by The Privacy Act 1993 and its subsequent amendments. The Privacy Act sets out 12 basic principles covering the collection, retention, use and disclosure of personal information.
You can request access to the information an organisation holds about you. This request can be either verbal or in writing. The organisation must make a decision regarding your request and notify you of that decision as soon as practical, and not later than 20 days of receiving your request. In certain circumstances organisations can extend the time limit but they have to give you notice that this is being done.
