Daily Weather Data

Central Hawke’s Bay District Council collects basic weather data from a weather station based near Waipukurau Airfield.  The data dates from December 2000 to the present day and includes statistics for high and low temperatures, frost/grass minimum temperature, windspeed and direction, and rainfall.   The data is downloaded from the weather station each day shortly after 10:00am and is imported into a database.

The weather database is now able to be searched from the internet.  Two datasets are available: a 24 hour Summary of the weather over the previous 24 hours from 10:00am and an Hourly Output of data which provides a summary of  the weather during each hour of the day.   The data is fully searchable by start and end date periods, low and high temperatures, and low and high rainfall figures.

The address for the Central Hawke's Bay District Council Weather data is:

In addition to providing a series of data that can be used for trends, it also may be useful in resolving those annual arguments about whether it really does rain every Labour Weekend.
