Natural Disasters

Natural disasters can strike at any time, often without any warning.  Central Hawke’s Bay risks include earthquakes, flooding, landslips and droughts.

The best way to cope with a disaster is to be well prepared beforehand.

Full information about disasters and disaster preparation can be found at the Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management website.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) provide resources for disasters in rural areas that affect agriculture and forestry.   This information can be sourced on the Adverse Events section on the MAF website.
