Small community halls are run by hall committees. Bookings should be made through their respective contact person as listed or through Jenny Sears at the Council.

The Waipawa Town Hall

 

Waipawa Town Hall interior.

The Waipawa Town Hall consists of a concert hall and main hall. The concert hall has carpeted floor and a small stage, it has access to the kitchen with a servery hatch, seats 100 people for a meal, both halls have access to the bar facilities. The main hall seats 170 persons and has a wooden floor with a large stage and an upstairs auditorium Total number for whole hall 270 people seated. Maximum number of persons permitted is 440, including seating upstairs.

 

The kitchen has:

  •  A dishwasher
  • 1 large catering stove, a domestic stove plus a microwave
  • 1 fridge plus a deepfreeze shared with the bar
  • 2 zip water heaters
  • 1 large table for preparing food
  • Enough crockery and cutlery for 100 people plus serving utensils
  • 20 small tables [seats 6] and 5 trestle tables
  • 280 loose chairs

The bar has:

  • A large fridge for drinks
  • A deepfreeze with the kitchen for ice 
  • A dishwasher

Rehearsal and setting up rate 50% of normal hire rate

In addition to the hire charges, there is a charge for electricity usage, a deposit and bond to pay.

Power charge: 18 cents per kWh unit = $7.20 a unit, $3.60 half a unit
Deposit: A deposit of $20 is payable on booking, and this will be retained if the booking is cancelled with less than one weeks' notice
Bond: $200 payable prior to picking up the keys
