Your Council > Elections > Electoral Roll - Are you on it?
All parliamentary electors are automatically enrolled on the local authority residential electoral roll based on the address they have registered they live at. The Electoral Enrolment Centre (EEC) is responsible for this roll. A resident should inform the EEC whenever they change home address. This and any other enquiries regarding getting on this roll can be done by contacting the EEC via:
To be listed on the Residential Electoral Roll, application must be made and received by the EEC by a date specified in 2007 (to be confirmed). Voting may still be possible by casting a Special Vote if the person concerned registers with the EEC no later than one day prior to Election Day.
If a person is registered on the parliamentary (resident) roll in one area and pays rates for a property in another area, they may be eligible for enrolment on the non-resident ratepayer roll.
A firm, company, corporation or society who pays rates on a property may nominate one of its members or officers as a ‘ratepayer elector'. However, the nominated person MUST live outside the area. A non-resident ratepayer roll enrolment form must be completed within the statutory deadline. Enrolment forms are available by contacting the Electoral Officer on 06-857-8060.
