Hawkes Bay Civil Defence Emergency Management Group
The HB Civil Defence Emergency Management Groups aims are:
- To provide governance and oversight to ensure the resilience of the Hawke’s Bay communities to a wide range of hazards.
- Agree on actions to improve the provision of civil defence emergency management services to the region’s communities.
It was established in March 2003 as a result of the introduction of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act in December 2002. Each local authority in Hawke’s Bay (Central Hawke’s Bay, Hastings, and Wairoa District Councils, Napier City Council, and Hawke’s Bay Regional Council), has joined together to form the HB CDEM Group. Members of the CDEM Group are the Mayors from each local authority and the Chairman of the Regional Council. Eileen von Dadelszen is the Chairman of this group.
