Central Hawke's Bay District Libraries > Children
The Central Hawke's Bay District Libraries know how important your children are. We have specialised services and collections for all ages from tots to teens.
Our goal is to foster a life-long love of reading and libraries in your children. But we also like to keep up with the times. We have educational games on some of our computers, we have databases especially for students and we run great programmes for all ages.
There are weekly Pre-school programmes where children can take part in activities and develop a love of books.
Our libraries hold school holiday programmes during the term break. Check the events page for details.
Pre-schools and primary schools can arrange for the librarians to visit and read and share stories with the children and we also love to see classes in the library.
Phone your local library to find out what's on offer....
The 'Summer Reading Programme' is held during the Christmas school holidays each year at both libraries. Open to all children from 3-12 years, the programme aims to keep children reading in the summer holidays. Lots of fun activities are run during this time. The libraries also run reading programmes especially for teens.
