Support and Counselling Services offer professional, confidential and free (if needed) counselling, support, self esteem and family wellbeing services to our community.  Our staff are well qualified and supervised in a professional manner.

Citizens Advice Bureau

We provide free,confidential, impartial advice and information to anyone in the community that may need our help. No problem too big or small. We have trained volunteers who will assist with your enquiry. Our hours are Monday - Friday 9. am - 4pm.  In conjunction with the HB Law Society we also provide Free Legal Advice on Saturday morning's from 9.30 - 10.30 am except when it is a public holiday. No appointment necessary just first come first served. We help put you in touch with services you need, help find answers to difficult questions and work with you to sort out problems.

Heartland Services

Heartland Services is a government initiative designed to improve access to Government Services for rural and provincial New Zealand.  There are two parts to Heartland Services:

  1. Services Delivery Centres through which Government Services can be provided when departmental representatives are available
  2. An outreach service in which several different Government Agencies will synchronise visits to remote communities in order to provide a face to face service.

Information Centre

The railway station, built in 1860 and recently restored, accommodates the Information Centre. Visitors will be assisted by the friendly staff and experience the rumble of daily freight trains as they pass through the Station. Additional services include national travel advice and accommodation bookings, as well as a selection of souvenirs and local art.
